A rebuild of two ponds and a large cascade with a long drop waterfall. Since the stream runs over an existing retaining wall I had to ensure that the waterfall sheds the water cleanly with no water escaping over the sides of the spillstone. I cut the spillstone level with a Stihl saw by carefully moving back and forth, side to side to acheive the correct depth of cut. All parts of the stream were underlaid and lined with all stone and cobbles cemented into position, allowing anyone to walk all over it without ruining the effect or knocking stones into the pond and stream. The balancing tank contains the pump, an automatic top-up and an overflow. The water enters from the bottom of the wall facing the inside of the pond to prevent the overflow becoming blocked.
